Gregory Allen Pardee

Gregory Allen Pardee, age 43, of Eaton Rapids, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.

Greg was born August 26, 1968 to Frank and Virginia Lee (Johnson) Pardee in Lansing, Michigan.

Greg loved fishing and being outdoors. He was employed as a truck driver and enjoyed the opportunity that gave him to travel and see places.

Greg is survived by his daughter Jessica Pardee of Eaton Rapids; mother Virginia Pardee of Ithaca; father Frank Pardee of Ithaca; his “Sweetie Face” Amber Pettinger of Eaton Rapids; “brother” Ron Stahl of Findlay, Ohio; sisters Leslie Chapman of Ithaca and Becky Stahl of Ward, Arkansas; brother Donald Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Taylor

Funeral services for Greg will be 12pm, Friday, January 13, 2012 at the East Washington Church in Ashley. Pastor Jeff Reser will officiate and burial will follow at Ithaca Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday, January 12 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.

Madeline Rose Dowd

Madeline R. Dowd, age 81, of Alma, died Monday, January 9, 2012, at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma.

Madeline was born January 4, 1931, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy Bell (Wells) Turner. She married Clair Dowd in April , 1960, and had 49 years together before he preceded her in death on June 15, 2009. 

Madeline was happy and loved to laugh and tell jokes. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking and canning from the garden. She always remembered those in need and gave what she could to help others, and always donated items to Goodwill. She loved participating in church and spending time reading her prayer books. She also loved her animals, especially cats, dogs, and birds.

Madeline is survived by seven children, Dorothy (John) Anderson of St. Johns, Sue (Don) Farr of Sumner, Cheryl Aldridge of Alma, Danny (Debbie) Dowd of Ithaca, Kevin (Dawn) Dowd of Breckenridge, Darryl Dowd of Alma, and John Dowd of Alma; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters, Geraldine Renner of Montrose, Margaret (Robert) Peterson of Burt, Joyce (William) Peterson of Burt, Arthur (Viola) Turner of Brant, Carol Ryder of Burt, Judy (Eddy) Fisher of Brant, and Phil Turner of Burt. She was preceded in death by her sons, Pat and Mike Aldridge; and her brothers and sister, Jacqueline Zoellner, Edward “Dut” Turner, Bernard Turner, and Hank Turner. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Ithaca, with Father Jules Spleet officiating. Interment will follow in Pritchard Cemetery, Elwell. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Joan Marie (Fields) Maybee

Joan M. Maybee age 54, of Edmore, passed away January 22, 2012.

 

Joan was born February 4, 1957 to Paul J. and Mary Edith (Tabor) Fields in Carson City, Michigan.  She married Charles B. Maybee September 19, 1991 in Illinois.

 

Joan enjoyed animals, especially her cats and dogs. She also enjoyed NASCAR and gardening.

 

Joan is survived by her husband, Charles Maybee of Edmore; her mother Mary of Carson City; children Joshua Peiffer and Arieal Bristol  of North Dakota, Melissa and Jason Rhodes of Mason, Sarah and Bill Latoski of Stanton, Charles Maybee of Riverdale; six grandchildren, brother and sister Bonnie and Albert Malek of Hubbardston, Paul and Sheila Fields of Carson City; and brother and sisters-in-law Elizabeth Munsell of Ionia and Penny and Ted Childers of Perrinton.  She is preceded in death by her father Paul.

 

There will be a memorial service February 4, 2012 at 1pm, at the Bloomer Township Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

 

The family is being served by the Barden Funeral Home in Stanton.
