Ronald Dale Haney, age 56, of Sheridan, went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2014.

Ron was born May 22, 1958, in Greenville, the son of Dale and Clara (Vansiclen) Haney of Sheridan.  He is survived by his wife, Tammie (Vaughn) Haney, after having been together for 27 years; his children, Jonathan Vaughn of Sheridan, and  Amber and Josh Haney VanHorn of Sheridan; his grandchildren, Bradynn and Bentlee of Sheridan; his mother, Clara Haney of Sheridan; his mother-in-law, Beverly Messmer of Stanton; his brothers, David Haney and Doug Haney; his brothers-in-law, Steve (Mary) Vaughn of Crystal, Brian (Michelle) Vaughn of Vestaburg, and Dan (Bonnie) Vaughn of Gowen; and several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.  He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Haney; his father-in-law, Ernest Vaughn; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Ron farmed from the time he was a little boy, raising crops and caring for animals.  He would stay up all night or get up several times in a night to help animals having babies.  He was a loving and caring man who loved to farm and milk cows.  He especially enjoyed milking cows for the mennonites.  He loved his dogs, Tiny and Brownie, and his cat Morris.  There was not a day go by that he didn’t tell a joke.  He loved to spend time with his grandbabies.  He loved to help the neighbors out or just go talk to them for hours.  He enjoyed going to the music jams and singing with all of his friends.  In the short 56 years of his life he touched a lot of hearts.

There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the McBride Hall.  Please bring a dish to pass and be ready to share some memories you have of Ron.  Interment will immediately follow the luncheon.
