Donald Lynn Donahue

Donald Lynn Donahue, age 63, of Ithaca, died at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing on June 9, 2015.

He was born on May 12, 1952 in Perry, Michigan, the son of William Patrick and Mildred Fay (Wilcox) Donahue.  He served in the US Army from 1970-72.  He married Sharon Kay Barnes on January 27, 1973 in Carson City, Michigan.  She preceded him in death on March 28, 1993.

He worked at Aircraft Precision for 28 years and retired from Hammond Wholesale in May 2014 as an appliance repairman.

Donald was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 30 years, obtaining the 4th Degree.  He was very active in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved to putter around; he was always very busy fixing and building things.  If someone needed something fixed, you called Don.  He was a good family man.

He is survived by his children:  Misty Kay Donahue, William Lynn Donahue, and Victoria Marie Donahue; 6 grandchildren; his brother: Patrick Donahue, of Carson City; his sister: Yvonne Snyder, of Pompeii; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on June 12, 2015, at 11:00 am, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, in Ithaca.  Visitation will be on Thursday, June 11, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with a Rosary at 7:30 pm at Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

My deepest condolences to all of you. I will always remember Don as he was when him and Sharon met, full of life, laughter and love. So many memories of him coming to our house when I was young. We are very blessed to have been a part of Dons family. Love you and God bless.

We are so saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. He was a very kind, caring, and faith filled man. Please accept our deepest sympathy, our prayers, and our love.
It is with the deepest sorrow that I write about one of my favorite cousins, Donny Donahue. He was fun to be around and enjoyed the pranks of his younger cousins. He always smiled and had something positive to say. He will be missed. Love to the family!
