My deepest condolences to you all. I work at the Courthouse and Brent was such a kind, friendly man. He always had a smile and friendly hello whenever we would cross paths throughout the courthouse. The same was for any time either coming to work or leaving work. It is such a sad day here at the Gratiot County Courthouse. Brent will truly be missed by all. May you find comfort during this most difficult time.

Brent was a good friend. I worked in the Treasurer's Office at the Courthouse and met him there. He was one of a kind. His sense of humor was legendary, as were his practical jokes. He would always lend a helping hand if you needed one and he made the workplace so much better. We had great conversations and I learned a lot about him and the life he had, especially how he loved his parents and his wonderful stories of life in the Military. He loved telling stories about his antics and the places he traveled. He will be greatly missed. Prayers to his parents, his brothers and his nephews. I knew how important they were to him, as he talked of all of them with love and affection. RIP my friend.

I was shocked and my heart broke when I heard the news. Brent was like a Brother to Joel and a great friend to Zach and I. He always had alot of stories and a heart of gold. He was always there if we needed anything. He made an awesome chicken dish with rice and I loved it so he would make it and bring to our family. Alot of special memories. My sympathy and prayers for comfort around each one of you! Till we meet again, Brent.

I was so saddened to hear of Brents passing. I worked with Brent at the Isabella county Register of deeds office. Such a nice man. The world will be a much sadder place without his kindness & laughter.😞

Brent, what a kind fun n loving soul! I met him through my aunt Paula. Brent would come to family get togethers and he fit right in! When he left the area I was sad for us, he moved closer to his folks and I was happy for you all to have more time to spend since distance wouldn’t slow that. My heart is sad n aches for you to have your time cut short but know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I send peace n healing during this hard time. May God bless n send his favor over you in healing.

I heard of Brent's passing this past weekend and it still doesn't seem real. I fully expect to walk into the Register of Deeds Office in Ithaca and see him there wondering where his doughnuts were! He was a wonderful man, soldier, father, brother and husband I'm absolutely certain of that! Loved his sense of humor and the fact that he ALWAYS had a minute or two to see what was new with ME and my family. God Bless his family and friends at this time of sorrow. May his bright cheerful memories be what we all cherish until we re-unite in Heaven!

My heart broke when I heard of Brent’s passing. Seems like God takes the best so early.
Brent was one of our best friends while we were stationed in Germany so many years ago. He was part of our family. Spent holidays, birthdays and just about any other her free time at our apartment. We traveled to Paris with him, before GPS, it was a fantastic adventure. I for one, and my ex-husband Freddie Dierenfield, will never forget him.
I was so happy to see he had gotten married and had some kiddos around. Lots of love and prayer to his wife and the kids.
Jim and Sue, I don’t have the words to express how sorry I am for your loss. I never met you guys but you were always so kind to me and my kids. ❤️
Jim & Sue, I am sorry of your Bent's passing. I remember get togethers with Doc and Janie, and all the little cousins laughing and running around. I hope and pray your memories of Brent help you all during this time. Love and Prayers, Dory Reed & Family
